The filtering section is where the real power of the Notifier system comes in. While the platforms to monitor section defines which platforms you want to search, the filtering section is where you define exactly what you're searching for using filter syntax that will cause matches to be generated.
Notifier uses something called Solr search syntax for filtering. Solr is a full-text matching engine, but don't let that intimidate you. The search syntax is very easy to create, especially when you use AI to help generate your filters.
We highly recommend using AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude to create your filter syntax. These AI assistants understand what Notifier is and know how to work with Solr search syntax. They can come up with interesting recommendations and keywords that you may never have thought of on your own.
To get started, you'll want to use a specific prompt format when working with AI tools. This prompt should tell the AI what platform you're using and explain your monitoring goals so it can create appropriate filter syntax.
I'm using notifier.so to monitor content across various platforms. The platform uses SOLR search syntax for filtering content. I need help creating effective filters that will capture relevant content while filtering out noise.
Important: We do NOT support field searches (like "title:react" or "text:dogs"). You cannot specify which fields to search - searches are performed across all content.
Please help me create an effective SOLR filter and consider edge cases and variations in how people might phrase things.
My specific monitoring goal: [Describe what you're trying to monitor - e.g., "job postings for React developers", "mentions of my company name", "customer support requests", etc.]
Let's walk through an example. If you're looking for customers for an AI automation agency, you would tell the AI your specific monitoring goal and let it generate filter suggestions.
The AI will provide you with a comprehensive filter that includes various keywords and phrases related to your goal. You can simply copy this generated filter and paste it directly into the Notifier filtering section.
Once you've entered your filter, you can test it to make sure it works correctly. Use the test feature to enter sample text that might appear on your monitored platforms.
For example, you might test with text like "I am doing too many repetitive tasks and it's taking me too long to do them." If your filter is set up correctly, this should generate a match.
Here's another example for a different use case. If you're looking for customers for a development shop, you would modify your AI prompt accordingly. The AI will generate different filter suggestions that focus on development-related keywords and phrases.
You can work with the AI to refine your filters further. You can ask it to combine multiple filter suggestions, create more comprehensive searches, or focus on specific aspects of your business. The flexibility of AI-generated filters allows you to experiment with different approaches until you find what works best for your needs.
In addition to filtering, Notifier also offers AI-based verification as an additional step to ensure the matches you receive are exactly what you're looking for. This feature uses artificial intelligence to provide further verification of your results.
After setting up your filtering criteria, your searcher will be ready to monitor your selected platforms and send you notifications when matches are found. The combination of comprehensive platform monitoring and intelligent filtering ensures you'll receive relevant, high-quality leads for your business.
